General Counselling

Counselling therapies are typically considered as a short term treatment, providing clients with a space to explore, understand and process difficult circumstances.

By providing the therapeutic "scaffolding" and specialised treatments, counsellors are able to walk alongside clients as together they discover ‘practical life answers’ by clarifying issues, exploring alternatives, developing strategies, and enhancing self-awareness.

A referral from a GP is not required to book a consultation with a counsellor.

Erin Prater Counselling

Service Overview

As a person with lived experience of the effects of psychological abuse on mental health, Erin brings this understanding to her General Counselling, and NDIS high intensity psychosocial support roles.

Erin primarily supports people to live well, whilst experiencing the impacts of stress, anxiety, panic, depression and the effects of trauma and PTSD.

Erin has experience supporting people living with complex mental health.

As a collaborative and eclectic practitioner, Erin matches the appropriate therapeutic intervention, such as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to the presenting issue.

When supporting clients living with complex trauma, Erin works primarily from a PART's approach.

Erin's confidential, non-judgemental, person centred, General Counselling Service also benefits from her trauma informed practice as she provides support across the domains of daily living.

High intensity psychosocial support worker services are also offered to NDIS Participants.

Services are delivered to private and NDIS clients only.
